Should I stay or should I go now… November 24, 2005
Bouncing things around in my head.
If I go I will be able to:
take a bit of a rest before leaping back into the fray.
do this and this.
spend a lot more time with Finn & Mark.
focus on getting fitter and healthier.
If I go I will have to:
buy another car.
get some serious financial advice (anyone know a good advisor/accountant?).
get some really serious interview clothes.
If I go I will not have:
staff discounts to rely on.
as much employment certainty.
as much money to live on.
Going could be:
the best thing I’ve ever done.
very freeing.
a really bad idea at the moment.
(sigh) When it comes down to it I know exactly what I want to do. What I don’t know is if I can do it.

I think you should start with some financial advice. Understandably, the financial issue is your main concern. Go see someone to see whether you could afford to jump. (Sorry, I can’t recommend anyone. Haven’t had to do this myself.)
Financial advice is certainly a good way to get a better picture of how things might work out. Should you decide to jump you have the wherewithal to find something more suitable but, then again, the devil you know might also have something more satisfying.
