Putting exercise equipment to good use
My parents gave us their treadmill mostly, I think, to get it out of their spare room. We haven’t used it much, but Em thinks it makes a great bed.
Pretties
I found the Girley Purls Etsi store via Zibibbo is Good and I just had to buy some stitch markers because they were so reasonably priced and gorgeous. They arrived today and look better in real life than they did in pictures.
Jelly made me do it
After reading Eilis‘ entry about her quilt I went and had a look at the KimoYES site. And bought stuff.
It’s all so beautiful I couldn’t resist! I bought some remnants and kimono pieces that were on special. I had to set my self a dollar limit so that I would stop at some point.
I have no idea what I’m going to do with most of it, other than a vague idea about making a couple of them into wall hangings or framing them.
I’m on their mailing list and I’ve bookmarked their site. I may have to take up quilting to find an excuse to keep buying their fabrics.
You just need to know who to call
I was about to ring my ex-boss when I decided to have a quick look at my last payslip, which arrived on Monday. My last official day was 10th March. The last day of the period for which I was paid was 15th March - an extra five days. This did not bode well, so I rang Payroll to ask why the difference.
Turns out that they hadn’t received my paperwork when the pays were being processed and they had to do a guesstimate for mine because they knew I was being made redundant but didn’t have the date. So they’ve overpaid me by five days.
The good news is that they have since received my paperwork and my redundancy payout will land in the bank account towards the end of next week. The girl I spoke to even gave me the direct number for the payroll group responsible so that I can call them if I have any more issues. The overpayment I’ve received will be adjusted for in the payout.
If I’d rung my ex-boss it would have taken him days to get around to doing anything about it and I’d have had the money before he got back to me.
