Ugly Duckling Jaywalkers June 30, 2006

Jaywalkers don’t look great while you’re knitting them. I’m currently knitting some (my third pair) in 8ply yarn for Mark and they’re fugly.
They seem really tight and bulge in spots where socks shouldn’t.
My first 2 pairs were the same. After a wash and careful drying (not blocking but lying them flat, rather than hanging them out) they came up beautifully. I’d take a photo to show you, but I’m wearing one pair and the other is in the dirty washing.
Thank you - it’s a great relief - I tend to knit on small needles far too tightly and have already pulled them apart once cos they just seemed far too inflexible.
