He Came, He Saw … He didn’t fix it. June 22, 2007
Well, the tech guy came to look at the pay tv. He didn’t look at me like I’m an idiot, but he did shrug.
He replaced the box, which seems to be the default action for any problem. That, at least, made the problem recur. He replaced the plugs at either end of the cable and said something about an incomplete earth at the wall end probably being the issue. Everything was working fine again so off he went.
While phaffing a short time ago I selected one of the radio stations. It didn’t work and gave the same message as the free-to-air tv channels, so I tried them again. No go.
The must be a lot of perfectly good pay tv boxes on the scrap heap.
