New Hat For The Princess September 1, 2008
I knitted Leila a new hat over the weekend for her to wear when she moves into the toddlers’ room this week. I based it on the pattern for this hat for Finn. The yarn was some left over bits and pieces I’d been wanting to knit something for her out of.
I wanted to put something distinctive on the top of it and was going to do a flower. At 10pm last night I lacked the wit to work the patterns I have out so I went with a couple of leaves instead. I might make a flower to sit between them later on.
The hat was a welcome distraction from the socks I’ve knitted my dad for Fathers Day. I’ve managed to make the foot of the second one slightly shorter than the first. A fairly small amount of ripping and reknitting will fix it, but I’ve had to rip and reknit 2 or 3 times on this sock already. The first sock went without a hitch and, given that this is a dead basic pattern (the kind he likes), its most annoying that I’ve had so many issues with the second.

it’s a great hat!
